The Plague Was Stayed

The Plague Was Stayed
‭2 Samuel 24:25 KJV‬
[25] And David built there an altar unto the LORD, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. So the LORD was intreated for the land, and the plague was stayed from Israel.

Whatever happens on earth has a solution on earth. The enemy will have you believe that you have no answer to your problem. The phrase "the plague was stayed" is preponderant in the Bible. The phrase is used about five times in the Old testament. In each instance, the phrase implies a solution that was found to a problem. Every problem is solvable with the right knowledge.  It may require a spiritual quest, a scientific inquiry, a collaboration with others, persistence or innovative thinking. There were many problems in physics that considered unsolvable at a time, then they were casually solved in informal capacities. One author describes th plague as " ...anything that afflicts or troubles like a calamity, scourge, any contagious epidemic disease that is deadly, like bubonic or corona virus plagues, a nuisance. In the bible when they occur it is often as divine punishment". In this last instance, repentance and turning to God stays the plague. In David's case, abiding to divine instructions stayed the plague. What are you experiencing? According to Benson Commentary, " Burnt- offerings were, in effect, prayers to God, that he would remove this plague and peace-offerings were acknowledgments of God’s goodness, who had already given David hopes of this mercy. Delaney supposes that the ninety- first Psalm was written by David in commemoration of his deliverance from this calamity". Read the entirety of Psalm ninety one and see God's mercies. My prayer for you is that the plague be stayed in your life, ministry or place of work. May the boisterous winds obey the voice of the Lord. May the sacrifice of the blood of Jesus be the last blood anyone will shed concerning your case. I feel good about this. The plague is stayed. Good morning.

The Judgement: The Worth Of The Lead

The Judgement: The Worth Of The Lead
‭2 Samuel 24:15 KJV‬
[15] So the LORD sent a pestilence upon Israel from the morning even to the time appointed: and there died of the people from Dan even to Beer-sheba seventy thousand men.

When there's poor leadership, the people suffer. When leadership breaks the covenant the consequences are deeper. We've already seen this in the story of David. Now seventy thousand men died because one leader crossed the line into sin. Are there things youre doing that has crossed the covenant line? The question that David asked God in verse 17 is very pertinent. " ...Lo, I have sinned, and I have done wickedly: but these sheep, what have they done?" A great number of leaders have asked this rhetorical questions silently. The simple answer is that the impact of a leader's sin is very great.Francis Frangipane says it brings on transfered guilt. " When church leaders serve the living Christ in love, aggressive faith, and prayerful humility, the people who live under their anointing become rich in the presence of God. Conversely, when a leader blatantly sins or is led into deception, the heartache of his downfall is absorbed into the spirits of those following him". Pause and read that again. In 2014, Changefactory published on the Seven Deadly Sins of A leader. These they enumarated as: Passivenes, Unaccountability, Thoughtlessness, Affectation, Greed Laziness and Inconsistency. They were not writing a Bible study. They were just stating the worth of leadership. Your leadership is an opportunity. It is worth more than gold. Dont bring death to your people David repented and the destroying angel stopped at the thresing floor of Arunah, the Jebusite. Thank you Lord for stopping the enemy. Thank you for the Name of Jesus. It is by God's mercies that we are not consumed. Now, go back to God. Good morning.
