God Of The Mountain 

I Kings 20:28-29 NKJV

[28] Then a man of God came and spoke to the king of Israel, and said, “Thus says the Lord: ‘Because the Syrians have said, “The Lord is God of the hills, but He is not God of the valleys,” therefore I will deliver all this great multitude into your hand, and you shall know that I am the Lord.’ ” [29] And they encamped opposite each other for seven days. So it was that on the seventh day the battle was joined; and the children of Israel killed one hundred thousand foot soldiers of the Syrians in one day. 

 

A couple, Tracy and Sharon Dartt had a life shattering experience as pool builders in 1974. They were broke. Their pool building company was in heavy debt, and faced foreclosure. In the course of cries for help from God, Tracy wrote the song. God answered the prayers. The song later became a number one hit song on the charts. This is Tracy, "God On The Mountain" has been recorded hundreds of times, by artists such as Lynda Randle, Jake Hess, Jessy Dixon, John Starnes, the list goes on and on. It has been translated into several languages as well. This simple little song, comprised of 72 words and 4 chords, has been an encouragement to thousands of people.".

   David Vryhoff did a podcast review of the song with these words: " The song acknowledges that life has its ups and downs, its mountains and valleys, and that it’s easy to talk of faith “when life’s at its best.” But when we’re “down in the valley of trials and temptations, that’s where [our] faith is really put to the test”. The song was drawn from the metaphor of the verses we are reading today. 

  Sometimes, the enemy thinks it has you conerned. It thinks that where you're, God is unable to reach you and help you. The devil is a wild dreamer, because, I can tell you stories of God's deliverance from the depths of the earth to the top of Mount Everest. Read the story again. God heard them. 

  The story is similar to what the devil tried with Jesus. It thought it has dealt with Jesus. It thought the case was closed. Three days kater, Jesus was back to life. Your situation is going to change. You will not always be under. God can fight for you whether it be on the mountain or in the valley. You may be experiencing a night season now, but the day will break again.
